Root Canal Treatment in Mettupalayam
Throbbing tooth pain, sensitivity that lingers or a swollen gum usually means the nerve inside the tooth is infected. A root canal removes the infection and saves your natural tooth.

When do you need a root canal?
You may need root canal treatment (RCT) if you have severe toothache while chewing, pain that wakes you at night, long-lasting sensitivity to hot or cold, a darkened tooth, or a pimple-like swelling on the gum. Deep decay, a cracked tooth or an old filling that has leaked can all let bacteria reach the pulp.
How we make RCT comfortable
We confirm the diagnosis with an in-clinic digital X-ray, numb the tooth fully and then clean, shape and seal the root canals. Laser disinfection is available to reduce bacteria further. Most single-root teeth are completed in one or two visits. After treatment the tooth is protected with a crown so it does not crack.
Root canal or extraction?
Keeping your own tooth is almost always better for chewing, for your bite and for your budget over time. Extraction leaves a gap that later needs an implant, a bridge or a denture. Dr. Aravinth will tell you honestly whether a tooth can be saved.

Questions patients ask
Is root canal treatment painful?
With modern anaesthesia the treatment feels much like a filling. The pain you had before treatment usually reduces right away.
How many visits does RCT take?
Many cases are finished in one or two visits. Teeth with severe infection or several roots may need an extra visit.
Do I need a crown after a root canal?
Back teeth almost always need a crown because a root-treated tooth becomes brittle. Front teeth sometimes manage with a filling.
