Jaw Pain & TMJ Treatment
Pain near the ear, a clicking jaw, morning headaches or worn-down teeth can come from tooth problems or the jaw joint. Specialised appliances can bring relief.

Common causes of jaw pain
Grinding or clenching teeth (bruxism), especially during sleep; an uneven bite after missing teeth or high fillings; stress; and problems in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) itself. Sometimes jaw pain comes from an infected tooth, which we rule out with a digital X-ray.
How we treat it
We correct the bite where needed and make custom occlusal splints or night guards that relax the jaw muscles and protect the teeth from grinding. We also advise on jaw exercises, soft diet during flare-ups and stress-related clenching.

Questions patients ask
Why does my jaw click?
Clicking is often caused by the disc inside the joint moving out of position. It needs attention if it is painful or the jaw locks.
I grind my teeth at night. Will a night guard help?
Yes. A night guard protects your teeth and often reduces morning jaw pain and headaches.
